About the Foundation

The Ed and Becky Meek Foundation was founded in 2021 by Ed and Becky Meek who grew up in Charleston and the Paynes community of northwest Mississippi. While the two have lived in Oxford, Mississippi, for much of their adult lives, they have continued to be passionately focused on strengthening educational opportunities for individuals and economic development and other programs increasing the quality of life in Charleston and East Tallahatchie County as well as Oxford and Lafayette County.

help is our main goal!

The Ed and Becky Meek Foundation supports the educational development of students residing in East Tallahatchie County and Northeast Mississippi. The Meek Enterprise Grant was established to help bridge the gap between family financial resources and the cost of postsecondary education for students. The program specifically supports students who have not received other scholarships or federal financial aid, providing opportunities for them to pursue education and workforce training across Mississippi. Grant recipients represent a diverse group of students who are preparing for careers through vocational and certificate programs, community colleges, and universities throughout the state. Eligible educational pathways include fields such as diesel mechanics, welding, HVAC technology, healthcare, business, and traditional academic degree programs. Community Revitalization Grants are also provided to non-profit organizations in support of the community and economic development.
