Educational Assistance

Financial support is available for students who reside in East Tallahatchie County for educational programs at all levels including non-credit Certificated Readior Fness Certificate for trade and technical skills programs, GED, and credit programs offered by community colleges and four-year colleges. The Meek Foundation seeks to help students identify, prepare for, and achieve educational goals that enrich employment opportunities and career development.

Financial support is designed to supplement or enhance federal and other sources of funding that may be available. There are no academic requirements, only a desire on recipients’ part to gain skills that lead to employment and enriching career options. To be considered for financial assistance regarding educational purposes, applicants should complete the Application Financial Assistance Form and mail the completed form to Meek Foundation (Charleston address) or email the form to glenna.callender@meekfoundation.com. Award decisions generally are made in the spring of each calendar year, but applications are considered year-round.

HOW TO APPLY FOR MATCHING GRANTS:

Community/Economic Development

Enterprise grants are available to support non-profit community enrichment activities of non-profit groups and to support economic development in East Tallahatchie County. Grants also may be awarded to support noteworthy community projects and activities that elevate the area and shine positive attention on the community.

Enterprise grants require matching funds, including in-kind contributions. Please complete the Enterprise Matching Grants form to be considered for financial support. Mail the completed form to Meek Foundation (insert address) or email the form to glenna.callender@meekfoundation.com.

HOW TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE:

Career Counseling and Work Preparation

The Meek Foundation offers free career development and job preparation assistance to students and families including identification and evaluation of educational opportunities at all levels, skill and interest assessment, resume development, and other assistance designed to help students enter and succeed in the job market.
